The Straits Course at Whistling Straits in Destination Kohler is a rugged, links-style masterpiece designed by Pete Dye that stretches over two miles along the windswept shoreline of Lake Michigan, offering dramatic views and challenging conditions reminiscent of classic Irish seaside courses. Known for its fescue-lined fairways, deep bunkers, and constant winds, it delivers a challenging and memorable test of golf. The course has hosted multiple major championships and the Ryder Cup, solidifying its status as on of the best.
Irish
The Irish Course at Whistling Straits is an inland Pete and Alice Dye–designed layout that winds through rolling dunes, streams, and grasslands just inland from Lake Michigan, offering a rugged yet strategic test of golf. It features wide fairways, creative green complexes, and deep bunkering that reward thoughtful shot-making while providing a slightly more forgiving and enjoyable experience than its famed sister course. Though it doesn’t host major championships, the Irish stands on its own as a memorable, world-class round within the Destination Kohler golf experience.
River
The River Course at Blackwolf Run in Destination Kohler is a scenic, Pete Dye-designed inland championship layout that winds along the Sheboygan River with water and natural terrain shaping much of the strategy and challenge. It features small target landing areas, strategic bunkering, and large, undulating greens that reward precise shot-making and thoughtful course management. Known for its beauty and difficulty, The River is consistently ranked among the nation’s top public-access courses.
Meadow Valleys
Meadow Valleys at Blackwolf Run is a rolling, parkland-style course designed by Pete Dye that blends open meadows with wooded corridors for a strategic and scenic round. Known for its risk-reward holes, bold green complexes, and creative routing, it challenges golfers to think carefully on every shot. Meadow Valleys provides a more playable yet still distinctive complement to The River Course within the Destination Kohler golf experience.
The Baths
The Baths at Destination Kohler is a fun and creative 10-hole par-3 golf course spread over 27 acres with holes ranging from about 60 to 160 yards, designed to be enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. It also features a two-acre putting course and social amenities like a log cabin food and beverage station with outdoor seating and a firepit, making it a great spot to relax after a round. Named for its four water features, or “Baths,” the course complements the resort’s championship layouts with a more casual experience.
