Our customers love what we do

The Bear
The Bear at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course known for its demanding layout and championship pedigree. Featuring deep bunkers, dramatic elevation changes, and challenging green complexes, it rewards precision and strategic shot-making from tee to green. The course winds through hardwood forests and rolling terrain, creating a secluded and intimidating atmosphere. Consistently ranked among the toughest courses in the country, The Bear is a must-play for golfers seeking a true test.
The Wolverine
The Wolverine at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa is a Gary Player–designed course that blends strategic challenge with playability for a wide range of golfers. It features wide fairways, rolling terrain, and large, undulating greens that encourage aggressive but thoughtful shot-making. The course showcases classic northern Michigan scenery with hardwood forests and elevation changes throughout. Compared to The Bear, The Wolverine offers a more forgiving yet still engaging championship golf experience.

Spruce Run
Spruce Run at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa is the resort’s most approachable and player-friendly course, making it ideal for casual rounds and mixed-skill groups. Winding through open meadows, wetlands, and mature spruce trees, the layout emphasizes wide fairways and minimal forced carries. While more forgiving off the tee, thoughtful approach shots and well-protected greens still reward smart play. Spruce Run delivers an enjoyable, relaxed round without sacrificing quality or scenic beauty.
